Locum guide
Use the locum guide to access the right cases, review patient information, record decisions, and hand work back safely in Clineso.
Role: Locum · you are a time-boxed clinical practitioner. Your access window has a hard expiry date set by the practice principal. After that date, you are automatically locked out — no manual revocation needed.
What you can do
- Review patient cases assigned to you.
- Issue prescriptions within your active window.
- Add clinical notes and view patient history.
- Run drug-interaction and allergy checks.
Everything you can do is identical to a Clinician role — the only difference is the automatic time limit.
Your access window
When a principal invites you as a locum, they set:
- Starts at — when your access begins.
- Expires at — when your access hard-expires.
You will see a banner in the app showing how many days remain. When the window closes, you land on a "Window closed" page — this is expected and correct.
If you need an extension, contact the practice principal directly. They can update your expiry date from Staff & Roles.
Key clinical surfaces
Clinical cases (/practice/clinical)
Lists all cases in your tenant — filter by status (awaiting review, under review). Claim a case to start your review.
Issuing a prescription
- Open a case in under review status.
- Review the patient history, measurements, and drug-interaction check.
- If safe to proceed → Approve → Issue prescription.
- The prescription is locked immediately after issue. Add an addendum if any amendment is needed.
Drug-interaction check
Runs automatically when you open a case. Any drug–drug, drug–allergy, or drug–condition conflicts are flagged:
- 🟢 Clear — safe to proceed.
- 🟡 Warning — proceed with documented clinical justification.
- 🔴 Block — cannot issue. Override requires explicit written reason.
What you cannot do
- Access financial data, payments, or commission.
- Modify practice settings or invite staff.
- Access the CD register (pharmacist-gated).
- Your access after the expiry date — by design.
After your window closes
Your clinical notes and prescriptions remain on record permanently. You cannot access them post-window — direct any patient queries to the practice manager.
