Pharmacist guide

Use the pharmacist guide to follow prescription, stock, dispatch, and patient delivery workflows within your Clineso access.

Role: Pharmacist · you oversee controlled drug (CD) register compliance, batch reconciliation, and dispensing verification. You are the pre-compliance gatekeeper for Schedule 2/3 medications.

CD Register (/practice/clinical → CD Register)

The CD register is an append-only ledger — no entries can be deleted or altered. This mirrors legal requirements under the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001.

Recording a CD entry

  1. CD Register → Record entry.
  2. Select entry type: receipt, dispensed, returned, destroyed, or adjustment.
  3. Enter batch number, quantity, and balance confirmation.
  4. Submit — the running balance updates automatically.

Recall lookup

When a manufacturer issues a product recall:

  1. CD Register → Recall lookup.
  2. Enter the batch number.
  3. The system returns all patients who received product from that batch.
  4. Use Mark batch recalled to flag the batch and generate the patient list for recall notifications.

Dispensing verification

Before a prescription is dispatched:

  • Confirm the product batch matches the prescription.
  • Verify quantity and expiry.
  • Record on the CD register if applicable.

Batch-at-dispense (coming soon)

Full traceability — linking each product batch to the dispensing patient — is in development. Current tracking covers CDs; general products use FEFO (first expiry, first out) automatically.

Compliance notes

  • CD register entries are audited and time-stamped. Any access is logged.
  • Destruction records must be witnessed — note the witness in the entry.
  • You cannot access financial data, clinical notes, or issue prescriptions.
